Democracy Council Volt Enschede 2023
New ways of democracy
A participatory process is a sequence of participatory activities (e.g. first filling out a survey, then making proposals, discussing them in face-to-face or virtual meetings, and finally prioritizing them) with the aim of defining and making a decision on a specific topic.
Examples of participatory processes are: a process of electing committee members (where candidatures are first presented, then debated and finally a candidacy is chosen), participatory budgets (where proposals are made, valued economically and voted on with the money available), a strategic planning process, the collaborative drafting of a regulation or norm, the design of an urban space or the production of a public policy plan.
Volt Twente organizes a first council. Talk and think about democracy in Enschede!
Political party Volt strives for a new generation of leaders in politics and a new style of government. Volt knows that together you come to better solutions. That is why Volt strives for a stronger role for citizens in democracy. In order to put this theory into practice, we, Volt Twente, will organize our own council. The members' council is on October 12, November 2 & November 16 in Buurthuis Beien in Enschede. The council is intended to increase the involvement of members and citizens, share ideas and work together on solutions for local challenges. The structure of the council will be based on the structure of a citizen's council. Everybody is welcome to join, but the language of the presentations and discussions will be Dutch.
